The Creator Manifesto (Print)
A First-Edition, Museum-Quality Print, with 15 Affirmations of Successful Creators
Dear Friends,
Introducing The Creator Manifesto: a first-edition, museum-quality print by Ash Lamb, Janis Ozolins, and me.
Celebrating what successful creators have in common, and designed to inspire as many people as possible to pursue their creative dreams.
By and For Creators
This print is the product of creator collaboration, and we hope it serves as a source of inspiration for anyone who's ever dreamed of putting something new into the world. Ash led design (brilliantly) with Janis contributing greatly from beginning to end. I led writing with constant input from Ash, Janis, and others.
The print is for readers and thinkers, discoverers and artists.
15 Affirmations of Successful Creators
The affirmations of successful creators amount to a worldview: the philosophy and ethos of the creator economy.
These beliefs aren’t obvious or intuitive. They’re formed by the experience of creating and participating: successful creators are optimistic, curious about life, and not easily deterred. They build on the ideas of others and help more people do the same. Because they possess these traits, nothing can contain their enthusiasm.
Successful creators believe in limitless paths. They never know how far one idea will take them. While some may see impractical exploration, they see never-ending inspiration.
Successful creators are positive. Their affirmations amount to a creator's worldview: the philosophy and ethos of the creator economy. These beliefs aren’t obvious or intuitive. They’re formed by the experience of creating and participating.
We designed this print to inspire people to build on the ideas of others.
It’s not what makes creators different that makes them succeed. It’s what they’ve come to believe in common, and who they’ve become. By taking inspiration from others, we can’t help ourselves from creating.
Printed on giclée Epson matte paper, framed, and delivered on demand.

Text of The Manifesto:
I’m always curious.
I show up and give myself permission to create. I focus on the process, not the outcome.
I take the counsel of other creators. I pay attention and I'm selective about what I explore.
I’m creating well when I’m consuming and observing well. I learn by doing and creating.
I measure my success by how much I’m following my curiosity. If I’m curious enough, I can’t help but create.
I know creating isn’t a race against time nor a competition. Because learning takes time, I think long-term.
I create and share in the spirit of helping others. The faster I learn, the more I can help others.
I don’t need everyone to like my work. I just need to put my work out there.
I don’t know what’s useful or obvious to others. I share things useful or obvious to me.
The more I share my work, the more I discover about myself. By sharing, I find a style no one else can replicate.
I don’t copy others. I do observe, mimic, and learn from others, building on their thoughts and work.
I promote other creators and tell them when their work is valuable. I promote my work so others don’t have to.
I pare what I create to its essentials. I respect anyone who gives me their attention.
My published work isn’t my final work.
I’m always creating.
