Self-Sustaining Impeachment
The impeachment process is now self-sustaining. Impeachable acts are now visible to the naked eye. The rate of change of such acts is positive. One single impeachable act is causing an average of one or more subsequent impeachable acts. The net result is a self-propagating series of impeachable acts.
Thus, abuse of power is rising faster than it can be controlled by the normal legislative process. Last week the House amassed the minimum amount of impeachable material needed to maintain a political chain reaction. This week the reaction went supercritical.
Warning, the core is unstable. The more impeachment counteracts the abuse of power, the more power will be abused to counteract impeachment. Failure to interrupt this reaction through a constitutional process may result in executive power rising faster than it can be absorbed.
If the president is impeached, it is likely he will be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors that haven’t occurred yet and that are greater in degree than previous impeachable acts.
