Federal law states it is illegal for “a person to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State, or local election.”
2019 – Asked if he would accept anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election, President Trump states, “They have information. I think I’d take it.”
2019 – While withholding security aid from a foreign power, President Trump states (to a foreign national serving as president of that foreign power), “I would like you to do us a favor though…” “The other thing, there’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son…”
2019 – Asked about the same foreign power, President Trump states, “I would think that if they were honest about it, they’d start a major investigation into the Bidens. It’s a very simple answer.”
